Shifting again

My blog has again been shifted. To Blogger again. Couldn’t do much tweaking with the WordPress code. The new address is http://h–j.blogspot.com/ (Can’t insert links at the moment. Something wrong). Thats h dash dash j, its coming out as a single dash in the post. God, what an address did I choose.

 

This is my first post in this blog.

I thought I would finally write something.

I am shocked at what has been done to Benazir. I did not support what was touted as ‘the Deal’ in the media. I remember what corruption she was responsible for in her tenures. And still therefore can’t find it enough within myself to eulogise her. Yet still I am shocked.

I am also shocked at the way Bilawel Bhutto Zardari was left as the chair-person of Pakistan People’s Party. Is this democracy? No, I should not be shocked perhaps. No, not shocked, no. Why should I be shocked at this ridiculous display of dynastic politics? Why should I be shocked at anything anymore? No, I am not shocked. This is all normal, isn’t it? Why be enraged at something normal?

Instead I pay tribute to the sad people of this sad country. Its hard to live in this country. Day by day, week by week. Inflation is enormously high. Not many people feel secure. They do not have much rights to speak of. Its hard, yet they soldier on. I pay tribute to those who died on that day and have since died in the violence. I pay tribute to those thousands of People’s Party workers. I do not understand enough of the present political structure to know the reason for the extent of their devotion. But it moves me. To see them support their leader even after the way she failed them. May God give you strength.
